Become an Interpreter
The Bucket Brigade provides free interpretive tours of Galveston’s beach ecosystems to the public. Tours help educate the public on topics such as water turbidity, sargassum, and the creatures and features of Galveston Beaches. Tours are offered every year, between Memorial Day Weekend and Labor Day Weekend, on Saturdays and Sundays only.
Hours: The Bucket Brigade provides 6, 45-minute tours at each location daily, and Volunteer Interpreters may sign up for either a full day (6 tours) or a half day (3 tours). We ask that Volunteers commit to at least 1, 3-hour shift each month.
Training: Training on topics and tours is provided during a 3-4 hour training opportunity and field practice with a Bucket Brigade Lead Interpreter.
