Matt Singer serves as the Director for Land Conservation at the Galveston Bay Foundation. His work is focused on land protection, property management, habitat restoration, and water issues within the Galveston Bay watershed. Matt graduated Texas A&M University in 2005 with a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences and spent 5 years in Florida as a wildlife biologist before moving home to Texas.
During his tenure at Galveston Bay Foundation, he has led the effort to become an Accredited Land Trust, permanently conserved over 12,000 acres of land, and restored hundreds of acres of wetland and upland habitats surrounding Galveston Bay. His love of the natural environment is driven by a passion for outdoor activities, including fishing, hunting, birdwatching, and boating.
Matt joined the Board of Directors in 2016 and hopes to contribute his expertise toward growing and managing the Coastal Heritage Preserve on Galveston Island and various aspects of Artist Boat’s organizational governance.
