Level 2 ACA Kayak Instructor Development Workshop

American Canoe Association (ACA) Level 2 Kayak Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) and Rolling Class will be held in Galveston, Texas March 14-17, 2019.
Become a Certified Paddle Instructor
March 14-17, 2019, Artist Boat will be hosting an ACA L2 Kayak Instructor Development Workshop (IDW) at the TAMUG Sail Team Center in Galveston, Texas.
This is a great course for anyone who leads any types of groups on kayaks! You can help them to be better paddlers or teach new paddlers, rescue stranded paddlers, and help them feel more comfortable so they can spend more time enjoying the water. Taught by a highly skilled American Canoe Instructor, Jeff Atkins – see his bio below.
Not certified at Level 1? Not to worry, in most circumstances, you can skip the L1 and move right on up to Level 2, as long as you have good paddle skills.
Level 2 is for you if you are paddling in winds up to 10 knots, waves up to one foot, current up to one knot. Workshop is March 14-17, 2019. $495 L2 fee).
Following successful completion of the course, participants will have professional kayak training and be certified instructors with the American Canoe Association. Yay you!

Meet Jeff Atkins, American Canoe Association Instructor
Jeff is a 26 year veteran Park Ranger. He loves coaching and leading trips. As an Instructor for the NC Outward Bound School, he leads expeditions around several parts of the USA. Jeff also holds several certifications including Wilderness First Responder, Leave No Trace Master Educator, and a Coastal Master Naturalist for SC. Paddlesports is his passion and he loves to spread the “infectious” recreation activity to others. Jeff believes in having fun, learning, and helping others to expand their confidence and skills by having fun while learning. “There is nothing like the feeling of seeing a person smile because they just did something they didn’t think they could do”.
