This workshop will focus on the impacts of climate change on human and natural communities. Hurricane Harvey resulted in health impacts such as skin infections, respiratory distress, mental health, chemical exposure. Poorer communities are still struggling to rebound from the storm. In addition, commercially important fisheries like oysters also suffered from the huge shift in salinity. Scientists predict that large storms, drought, and flooding events will be our new normal.
