Born and raised in Colorado, Sarah attended Colorado State University where she earned her degree in Natural Resource Recreation & Tourism.
Upon graduation, Sarah left the cold-and-colorful state of Colorado to move to the shimmering island of Catalina, one of the eight Channel Islands located off the coast of California. Sarah worked as an environmental science educator at the sustainability-focused Catalina Environmental Leadership Program as part of the Jean-Michel Cousteau Ocean Futures Society. Sarah discovered her passion for guiding others on immersive experiences in nature such as sea kayaking, night snorkeling, stargazing, permaculture gardening, and creating environmental art.
Sarah moved off the island of Catalina to the sunshine state of Florida to pursue a unique teaching position at a public charter middle school called Gulf Coast Academy of Science and Technology. Through this role, Sarah drove a school bus and brought classes of students on immersive, experiential education field trips all over the state of Florida. Some of her favorite field trips included snorkeling with manatees in Crystal River, kayaking above the vivid coral reefs in Key Largo, and seeing the larger-than-life rockets at Kennedy Space Center in Cape Canaveral.
Some of Sarah’s favorite pastimes include paddle boarding with her pomeranian named Squee, beachcombing, collecting crystals, and observing the night sky through her Dobsonian telescope.
Sarah joined the team at Artist Boat in January 2022, and is greatly looking forward sharing her love of art, science, and nature with others!
