Habitat Restoration Projects
Artist Boat has worked with elementary students from Galveston Independent School District over 3 different Eco-Art Programs to restore 24 acres of coastal prairie at Galveston Island State Park since Hurricane Ike in 2008.
During seven events in 2015, Artist Boat planted over 13,000 plugs of dune grasses at the newly constructed sand dunes by Dellanera Dunes RV Park with over 100 volunteers.
CITP – Stewardship Training Program
In 2015, Artist Boat planted over 10,000 clippings of Spartina alterniflora, Panicum amarum, and various prairie grasses over six events with approximately 100 volunteers from the oil and gas industry.
